About Youth Sports Institute of Delaware

The Youth Sports Institute of Delaware (YSI) is a non-profit organization* that strives to bring the benefits of sports sciences and training to all student athletes in our community and surrounding areas. Over the years, it has become clear that many of our children do not have access to the crucial services that they need to excel as not only athletes, but students as well. The ideology behind YSI is to bring all of these services under one “umbrella.” Sports training, psychology, nutrition, injury prevention, cardiac and concussion testing and college placement…all in one place…YSI. Not only do we carefully choose our partners to bring the best programming available to our student athletes, but we make it available to EVERY athlete. The majority of our funding is used to help send student athletes to camps specific to their sport, where they can benefit from the best coaching, trainers, mentors and counseling that is available. From individual athletes to entire teams, our goal is to make today’s student athletes into tomorrow’s leaders. While student athletes are the primary focus of our mission, YSI also realizes that without referees and coaches, our sports will struggle. That is why we also offer seminars to aid in licensing and education for those who are currently involved or would like to become involved in sports. Seeing a void and charting a course to fill it, the Youth Sports Institute of Delaware is working to change the landscape of sports in our area. Educating our student athletes, parents, referees and coaches to help EVERYONE reach their full potential. The Youth Sports Institute of Delaware is a 5013C entity through the Delaware Community Foundation.
